Tryon who corresponded with Sir David Barclay changed the locality in the Manual of Conchology to "Admiralty Islands". This may be an error and I suspect the original label read "Admiralty Islands" which are close to the known range of this Micronesian species. The type locality is "Amirante Islands" in the western Indian Ocean.
